I’ve decided to take the challenge back to basics. One animal each month, chosen at random (using a spreadsheet and an online randomiser / dice roll!), I have to do 1 picture using that animal, in any medium. I can do more, either of the animal or other things, but the challenge is – one animal per month minimum!

As I moved in November and so was unable to complete 2021’s challenges I wanted to keep it small and achievable while leaving plenty of room to do more – more art, more creative things, more decorating, more gardening…. more chores I guess!

I do have a new giant XP Pen monitor tablet to work on which is amazing and giant so I have to get working to make good use of it!

So January. I randomised and I got a Pronghorn! Yea I hadn’t heard of them either. They are a type of antelope and actually very pretty.

I had a lot of fun with this, I wanted to try and go with a painted style in photoshop. My initial sketch was not great but using the image I was looking at I was able to smudge the lines together and reshape it to get something closer and then … well I painted it, while watching Practical Magic!

I then tried to go for a Disney look – it’s not great. But I’ve put it below to show just how not great!
